Over thirty years of living in the Pacific Northwest, my relationship with this landscape has only deepened. To many, the region is defined by gray, misty skies, but to me, those cool tones serve as a backdrop that makes the surrounding colors vibrate with life.
Every element holds its own distinct vision, from tiny red blooms nestled in vibrant green moss to the dramatic shift in atmospheric light, the bloom of spring cherry blossoms, and the silent strength and majestic beauty of surrounding mountain ranges.
This series originated in 2010 as a personal response to my surroundings. Over 2 decades later, it remains an open-ended collection; each year, my surroundings continue to reveal something new, inspiring fresh canvases that reflect my forever connection to the northwest.
