The Artist

Ashmita is passionate about interpreting and revealing the unique beauty found in the natural world around us. Through her art, she transforms everyday inspirations into vibrant visual expressions that reflect both observation and emotion.

Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Ashmita spent her formative years immersed in a rich cultural landscape. After earning a degree in Art from the prestigious Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Arts, she specialized in advertising and built a successful career as a visual artist. Over the next eight years, she worked with leading advertising agencies in Mumbai and Bangalore, honing her creative vision and design expertise.

Following her move to the United States, Ashmita took a hiatus from her professional career.

In 2006, she returned to painting with renewed energy and a fresh perspective. This period marked a time of exploration, experimentation, and artistic discovery. Working primarily in acrylics, she developed a series of abstract works that she describes as “colorful bursts of artistic expression.” Her creations are inspired by the sights, emotions, and experiences that shape her everyday life.
